COMPETITION RULES
1. Participation of non professional choirs in the competition is allowed in four categories, classified according to number of singers and the level of their professional masterliness (minimum 18 singers).
- Category A (the highest level of masterliness)
mixed chamber choirs; maximum 28 singers;
- Category B (the highest level of masterliness)
mixed choirs with minimum 41 singer;
The number of singers of female and male choirs is not limited.
- Category C (middle level) - the number of
singers unlimited;
- Category D folk music.
2. Mixed, female and male choirs consisting of singers between the ages of 16 and 30 can take part in all categories. It will be allowed that 4 singers are a little older.
3. Each choir has to participate in at last two categories. Participation in Category D is obligatory.
4. The choirs participating in Category A and B have to perform the compulsory composition and compositions chosen by a choir, including in the programme an original composition by a composer from the country represented by the choir. One of the compositions must be composed by a 20th century composer, and one poliphone composition. Total duration of a choir's performance (including the compulsory composition) is 15 minutes maximum.
5. The participants in Category C have to perform the compulsory composition and two free chosen contrasting compositions. One of them must be an original composition by a composer from the country represented by the choir. Total duration of a choir's performance is 12 minutes maximum.
6. Category D is for the members having announced their participation in one of the previous categories. The programme has to consist of folk song arrangements, advisably contrasting in their character. Total duration of performance is 10 minutes maximum.
7. The competition will be evaluated by an international jury according to the following criteria:
- technique of a choir
- interpretation
- the chosen programme
Decision of the jury is not disputable.
8. Memorial prises and money prises will be awarded for each category.
