Several research papers of pupils (under supervision of A. Cibulis) have been nominated to European contests. M. Lukjanska`s contest work on compatibility of polyiamonds was very highly appreciated in the 15th European Union Contest for the Young Scientists (Budapest, Hungary in 2003). She was awarded Honorary Prize and was selected to represent the European Union Contest for the Young Scientists at the 46th London International Youth Science Forum, 28 July - 11 August, 2004. Andrejs Cibulis has invented a number of mathematical toys (puzzles) and developed the largest collection of mathematical toys (MT) in Latvia. He has organized 11 exhibitions (1999-2002) of MT and participated in International Puzzle Parties (2002, Belgium; 2005 Finland). A number of new MT have been elaborated by means of a computer. In co-operation with students and skilful programmers the new and very difficult MT have been created. For more information see the publication by Blumbergs A. and Cibulis A.
